We are seeking a systems and product oriented, highly analytical, extremely driven Business Operations Manager, well versed with online advertising ecosystem. As an early member of the Business Operations team, you’ll focus on driving critical business insights for our Executive Team while partnering with leaders throughout EMX to fundamentally improve how we operate as a business. With a combination of exceptional analytical skills, an insatiable curiosity, and an entrepreneurial, “get stuff done” mindset, you’ll help us better understand our systems, products, partners, and KPIs and drive important changes that will shape the future of EMX.


This role offers the perfect blend of systems, product, data and analytics mixed with business operations. Utilizing technology tools, this Business Operations Manager will be able to work in a team setting focused on driving organizational initiatives with direct visibility to VP's and Directors of all functional groups. Working directly with the VP of Operations, this person will have high-level visibility to the company’s overall strategy and business decisions.


  • Deliver objective assessment of currently utilized systems / tools
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors (for external platforms) and internal product and technology team (for internally developed platforms) to optimize internal use of existing systems
  • Work closely with all functional groups (Sales, Strategy and Planning, Account Management, Media Operations, Technology, Product and Finance) to understand near-term operational needs and execute build vs. buy analysis
  • Lead team on organization wide initiative to develop global KPI dashboards to monitor performance in near real-time
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate advanced analytics (ML / AI) to drive real-time automated management of the business
  • Develop deep knowledge of technology tools utilized (CRM, OMS, proprietary advertising technology platform, and back end performance monitoring and billing system)
  • Identify key processes / workflows and optimization of our resources use of our technology tools
  • Collegial and positive interactions across the organization
  • Generally, remove friction from the daily, weekly, and monthly cycles that touch nearly all functional groups in the organization
  • Document chokepoints and suggest process improvements in order to push activities to (i) offshore Media Operations team and (ii) offshore Technology team
  • Additional responsibilities as determined by the role


  • Bachelor's degree required, with major in analytical or technical field strongly preferred
  • 6+ years of analytical experience, ideally in Product Management, Project Management, Sales or Business Operations, Analytics or Data Science, Management Consulting, and / or Corporate Strategy
  • Must have extreme attention to detail, strong work ethic, and be a self-starter and quick learner
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritize and adjust to different work loads
  • Strong organizational and project management skills and ability to multi-task and work in a rapidly changing environment
  • An understanding of business process & the application of technology in achieving business objectives
  • Experience writing user stories and working with project teams to execute
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel, complex analyses, and models
  • Experience with SQL or similar coding language required. Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Salesforce, STAQ, Datorama, Python, Ruby, experience a plus.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude to overcome any obstacles and get things done
  • Willingness to take on big challenges and own the results from brainstorm to execution
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions including Sales, Strategy & Planning, Account Management, Media Operations, Business Operations, Technology, Product, and Accounting and Finance, etc.
